Faulty Peugeot Remote Control Plip
If you're wondering why your car remote control has stopped working there can be several reasons:
- Low/Dead Battery: I know it's obvious but sometimes people just don't think of it! Also if you've just replaced a battery recently you may not consider the battery to be at fault but many new batteries can be duff, especially cheap brands.
- Unprogrammed: The remote may need re-programming. You can find instructions to do this here
- Faulty Circuit: This can be down to dry solder joints or component failure. If you can work to component level then you may be able to service a repair. In the faulty remotes that have passed my hands I've found all components to be serviceable pointing towards a problem with the IC (Integrated Circuit) - which means a new remote control is needed!
- Batteries keep discharging very quickly: A common problem on the Infra Red keyfobs and due to a faulty circuit. No real solution to this one apart from having to buy a new remote plip.
